Located at No.25, Changzhou Road, Shinan District, Qingdao, the building was built in 1900, covering a land area of 6,309 m2. When Germany occupied Qingdao, it was used to confine European criminals and then called Prison for Europeans. This is a building in the style of German ternary castle, with foundation made of granite blocks and red clear walls. There are small window holes regularly opened on the round turret in connection with the principal part, with the 47-stepped screw stair inside and a copper-foiled cone steeple. After the liberation, the building served as a detention house and currently is under the organization and construction of Qingdao Juridical Museum. It was listed into key national protected units of cultural relics in 2006 as one of the German architectural complexes in Qingdao.
